اللعبة الاولي من سلسلة كول اوف ديوتي بدون طور القصة الفردي  الذي يركز على القصص الخلفية لشخصيات اللعبة متعددة اللاعبين ، والمعروفة باسم (المتخصصين) يعد وضع اللاعبين المتعددين هو الأول من نوعه في السلسلة بتجديد تلقائي للصحة ويقدم كلاً من الارتداد التنبئي ونظام المقذوفات الجديد. تتضمن اللعبة ثلاث اطوار للعب هم طور اللعب الجماعي و طور الزومبي و الباتل رويال و تتضمن اللعبة ايضا 3 خرائط هي : سفينة تيتانيك و ساحة  روما القديمة و سجن الكاتراز الفيدرالي و تقدم اللعبة أيضًا وضع المعركة الملكي يسمى بلاك اوت والذي يضم ما يصل إلى 100 لاعب في كل مباراة
