The events of the game are located in the city of San Francisco and can be navigated in the game world by walk or by car. The protagonist of the story is Marcus Holloway, a young hacker and a new character in the series, perfecting parkour movements, working with a pirate group "Ddsic" to drop the advanced surveillance system called "CTOS".
Watch Dogs 2 carries a lot of spying elements with an open world environment and the game supports the third-person perspective, and the story takes place in a fictional version of San Francisco that consists of six different regions: the downtown area, Civic, Coast, Auckland, Marine, Silicon Valley, Each region has unique characteristics and players can move around the city on foot or by vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, quad bikes and boats.
